Plot any function, then explore it

Type y = f(x) and see the graph straight away. Drag to move around, pinch or scroll to zoom, trace values with your cursor, and find exactly where curves cross zero and each other.

Drag to pan, scroll or pinch to zoom

Functions

Use x, + − * / ^, brackets, sin, cos, tan, sqrt, abs, ln, log, exp, pi and e. Multiplication can be implied, as in 2x or 3(x+1).

    Roots and intersections

      Table of values

      Typing functions

Write the right-hand side of y = f(x), such as x^2 - 4, sin(x) or 1/(x-2). You can type y = in front if you like. Powers use ^, square roots use sqrt, and π is pi. Switch to DEG when you want sin(90) to equal 1.

      Moving around the graph

Drag the graph to pan, scroll or pinch to zoom in on a point, and use the buttons to zoom or go back to the standard view. Move your cursor or finger over the graph to trace the nearest curve and read off x and y.

      Roots, crossings and tables

Find in this view lists every place a curve crosses the x-axis and every point where two curves meet, inside the part of the graph you are looking at, to about ten significant figures. Tap a result to centre the graph on it. The table lists values at any start and step, ready for homework or checking a sketch.
