What this tool does
This tool opens a PowerPoint file, reads the layout of every slide and draws it again as a PDF page with real, selectable text. The PDF looks the same on any phone, tablet or computer, even where PowerPoint is not installed, which makes it a safe way to send a deck to a client or teacher.
What comes through
Slide backgrounds, text boxes and placeholders with their sizes, colours, bold and italic, bullets and numbering, alignment, common shapes and lines with their fills and outlines, pictures, groups and tables are all carried over, along with the designs from the slide master and layouts. SmartArt is drawn from the shapes PowerPoint saves with it.
What is simplified
The conversion is made by this page, not by PowerPoint, so a few things are simpler than the original. Text is set in Open Sans rather than the fonts in the file, so line breaks can fall in slightly different places. Charts, equations, embedded videos and some picture formats such as EMF cannot be drawn and are left out, and you are told when that happens. Animations and transitions do not exist in a PDF, so each slide shows its final state. For a pixel-perfect copy, use Export to PDF in PowerPoint, Keynote or Google Slides.
Older .ppt files
This tool reads the modern .pptx format used by PowerPoint since 2007, as well as files exported from Google Slides, Keynote and LibreOffice Impress. If you have an older .ppt file, open it and save it as .pptx first.
Privacy
Your files never leave this device. The presentation is opened by your browser, the PDF is built in its memory, and the download comes straight from there. Nothing is uploaded.
Questions
Can I convert several presentations at once?
Yes. Add as many .pptx files as you like and each one becomes its own PDF.
Are speaker notes included?
No. The PDF contains the slides as the audience sees them.
