QR codes that never expire

Every QR code you make with kittybin keeps working for as long as the thing it points to exists. Here is why, and what to watch for elsewhere.

The data is in the code

A kittybin QR code holds your link, Wi-Fi details or text directly in its pattern of squares. A phone reads it and goes straight there. Nothing in between can be switched off, so there is nothing for us, or anyone, to expire.

Why some codes stop working

Some QR services make “dynamic” codes. The code points to the service’s own short link, which then forwards people to yours. That lets you change the destination later, but it also means the code only works while that service keeps forwarding. If a free trial ends or a plan lapses, every printed menu, flyer and business card can stop working at once.

Our promise

When a dynamic code makes sense

If you really need to change where a printed code points, point it at a page you own, such as yoursite.com/menu, and update that page instead. You keep the flexibility without depending on anyone else.

Make one now with the QR code generator, or a whole batch with the bulk generator.
