Why clean text before using AI
Anything you paste into an AI chat can be stored, reviewed or used to improve the service, depending on its settings. Customer emails, contracts, logs and code often contain details that belong to other people or to your company. Replacing them first keeps the useful part of the text and leaves the private part out.
What it finds
Email addresses, phone numbers, card numbers (checked with the same test banks use), IBAN bank account numbers, US Social Security numbers, Canadian SINs, IP addresses, UK and Canadian postcodes, and common API keys and access tokens. Web links and dates can be switched on too. Add any names, company names or project names you want removed.
Labels that keep meaning
With labels, the same value always gets the same label, so "[EMAIL_1] wrote to [EMAIL_2], then [EMAIL_1] replied" still reads clearly. An AI can summarise or answer questions about the text without ever seeing the real details.
Privacy
The cleaning happens as you type, inside your browser. The text is never uploaded, and this page has no way to send it anywhere.
Questions
Will it catch everything?
It catches the common formats reliably, but no automatic tool is perfect, especially with names and unusual formats. Read the highlighted result before sharing anything sensitive.
Can I put the details back later?
Not automatically. Keep your original text if you need it, and use the labels to match the AI's answer back to the real names yourself.
