The comparison runs in your browser. The job post and your resume are never uploaded.
How the match works
The job post is broken into words and short phrases. Common filler such as “experience”, “team” and “responsibilities” and the company’s own name are left out, and phrases that appear more than once, such as “Google Analytics”, count for more. Each keyword is then looked for in your resume, allowing for plurals and small word changes, such as report and reporting.
Why the job title matters
Recruiters often search applicant tracking systems by job title, and research on job applications has found that resumes with the exact title from the post get noticeably more interviews. If the title is missing, put it in your headline or summary, as long as it honestly describes what you do.
Should the score be 100%?
No. The score shows how many of the post’s main keywords appear in your resume, not your chance of getting the job. Aim to include the skills and tools you really have, in the words the post uses. Never add skills you do not have just to raise the number.
