Teach kittybin a trick

Do several steps in one go: square, compress and rename photos, merge, number and lock PDFs, trim videos, even out sound, tidy text or make QR codes. Start from a starter, run it on files from your device or your Library, and keep the results in your Library. Your files are worked on in your browser and never uploaded.

Add your first step, or start from a ready-made trick.

    Run it on your files

or drop pictures, PDFs, videos, sound, text files or a whole folder anywhere on this page. Your originals are never changed.

    How tricks work

Tricks are steps kittybin repeats for you. A trick is a list of steps that run from top to bottom on every file you add. Picture steps work on JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF, BMP and AVIF files, PDF steps work on PDFs, video steps work on MP4, MOV, WebM and MKV, sound steps work on MP3, M4A, WAV, OGG and FLAC, and text steps work on .txt and .md files. Rename works on all of them. A file that no step can change is left out and listed, so nothing is changed by surprise.

When you have added files, Add a step shows the steps that fit them. Some steps change what a file is: Extract the sound turns a video into a sound file, and QR code for each line turns one text file into a picture for every line, so the steps below them work on the new files.

Merge into one PDF and Images to one PDF gather files together. Everything above them runs on each file first, then the files are joined in the order you added them, and the steps below run on the joined PDF.

    Your Library and projects

Choose from my Library runs a trick on files you already keep in kittybin. The results are kept in your Library as one group, in the project you pick, and downloaded as usual. Tricks always make new files: the files you start from, on your device or in your Library, are never changed.

The first time you run a saved trick, it shows what will happen before it starts. After that you can let it run straight away whenever you add files, and turn that off again at any time.

    Run a whole folder

Drop as many files as you like, or choose a folder and every picture and PDF inside it is added, including subfolders. Each file shows its own progress and any problem, so one damaged file never stops the rest. When it is done you get a single file, or one zip that keeps your folder structure.

    Save and share

Your tricks are saved in this browser, so the next time you open this page they are ready to run. Copy link puts the steps and their settings into the web address, so a colleague or classmate can open it and save the same trick. Links never contain your files, your logo or a password. The Add a password step asks for the password each time you run it.

If you sign in and turn on private sync, the steps you save here follow you to your other devices. They are locked on this device before they are saved, so even we can't open them.

    Your logo and brand

The Add your logo step uses the logo you saved in Your kittybin, the brand kit that stays on your device. Save it once and every trick can place it in a corner at the size and opacity you choose.

    Good to know

    • Any step that changes the picture saves a fresh copy, which also leaves out camera details and location. Add Remove location and details when nothing else changes the picture.
    • Compress to a size lowers quality first and only shrinks the picture if it still needs to. Put it near the end of a trick.
    • Compress PDF rebuilds the file cleanly and keeps text sharp. It does not turn pages into pictures, so scanned PDFs may not get much smaller.
    • PDFs that already have a password need to be unlocked first with Unlock PDF.
    • HEIC photos from iPhones can't be read by most browsers yet. Save them as JPG first.
    • Video and sound steps use the video engine built into your browser. They work best in the latest Chrome, Edge or Safari, and long videos take a while on older devices.
    • Compress video to a size picks the quality and, when needed, a smaller picture size so each video fits under the limit you set.

    Questions

    Is anything uploaded?

No. The page loads once, and every step runs in your browser on this device. You can even disconnect from the internet before you press Run.

How many files can it handle?

Hundreds of photos are fine on a computer. Files are worked on one at a time to keep memory low, and you can cancel at any point. Very large batches on an older phone take longer.

Can I undo a change to a trick?

Yes. Undo and Redo cover every change while you edit, with Ctrl Z and Ctrl Shift Z, and a deleted trick can be brought back right after you delete it.

Steps run from top to bottom. You can reorder them any time.

      Password for your PDFs

Every PDF in this run is locked with it. It is not saved and never goes into links.
